Misha Cohen was raised in California, where she received her B.A. in Studio Art and Minor in Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine.

She is a freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer, who is dedicated to portraying with honesty and sensitivity the people she photographs.

Misha has covered stories in the United States and in West Africa working with The Huffington Post,

the International Rescue Committee, UNHCR-Nepal, Mercy Ships, and San Francisco magazine.

Her year and a half long project for the International Rescue Committee, “From Exile to Refuge,” documenting a Bhutanese refugee family’s transition to New York City, is stil being used to aide the resettlement of refugees worldwide.

She is also trained as a journalist which adds a unique depth to her work-she recieved a certificate in journalism from NYU, scps in 2010.

Misha is available for assignment, editorial, documentary, and portrait work. She is currently based in Portland, Oregon.
